FS1 trims down ‘Fox Sports Live,’ extends ‘NASCAR RaceHub’

The network is cutting an hour of ‘Fox Sports Live’ three nights a week, and extending its NASCAR show to an hour, forcing ‘Fox Soccer Daily’ to 3:30 p.m. ET.

Fox Sports

It’s always interesting to see the first adjustments that a new network makes once it launches. Fox isn’t doing anything drastic with its new sports network one month in, but it will tinker a little bit with the lineup.

The biggest change, perhaps, is that flagship series Fox Sports Live will cut three hours out of its weekly schedule. FSL will still air every night from 11 p.m.-midnight ET, but the Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday editions will drop the midnight-1 a.m. ET hour, and be replaced by reruns of Fox Football Daily. At 1 a.m. ET, Fox Sports Live will return with another new hour that will repeat throughout the early morning hours.

On Mondays and Thursdays, thanks to football, Fox Sports Live will continue to air for three hours straight with the live show. The weekend shows will remain fairly similar, with the Jay Onrait/Dan O’Toole-only Sunday night show (my personal favorite) airing from 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET. So it’s pretty much the same schedule, but with two hours taken out during the middle of the week.

The afternoon lineup at FS1 will also be a bit different. With The Chase for the Cup imminent, NASCAR Racehub will expand to an hour-long show from 4-5 p.m. ET every day starting next Monday, Sept. 23. To accommodate the show, Fox Soccer Daily will be moving to 3:30 p.m. ET on weekdays when Fox doesn’t have UEFA Champions League games. A Fox press release says that the changes are through The Chase and “Program scheduling for the 2014 season will be determined later this year.”
