The 49ers will use WR Kyle Williams on returns against the Packers on Sunday.

James sprained his MCL against the San Diego Chargers on Aug. 24 during the team's preseason finale. The Oregon alum played in just four regular season games as a rookie. He totaled 125 yards on 27 carries and caught three balls for 29 yards. He is listed as the third running back and starting returner on the team's official depth chart.
While James is out, his teammate Nnamdi Asomugha is still listed as questionable with a collarbone injury. The cornerback was limited in practice throughout the week. He will be a game-time decision.
The 49ers will host the Packers at 4:25 p.m. ET at Candlestick Park. The game will air on FOX.
