An adult male fan attending the 49ers-Packers game on Sunday died after falling from an elevated walkway at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. Local station KTVU reports that police have talked to several witnesses who claim the man fell onto a sidewalk from the Jamestown walkway that surrounds the stadium. Police also say that the witnesses indicated the man looked intoxicated at the time of incident.

The fan, whose identity has not been revealed, fell shortly after kickoff at 1:30 p.m. PT. Off-duty medical personnel treated the victim shortly after the fall, but he died shortly after due to his injuries. Police on scene say that the man suffered serious injuries and there is still no estimate of how far he fell. He was declared dead before the ambulance arrived to transfer him to a local hospital.

The incident was not reported during the Fox game coverage of the 49ers’ 34-28 victory over the Packers.
