The first full day of Winter X Games 2014 kicks off from Aspen, Col. on Thursday.

The snowmobile freestyle final headlines Day 1 action.


The main draw of the day will be the men’s snowmobile freestyle final, the only gold medal event on the schedule. Among the competitors is Colten Moore, who’s older brother, Caleb Moore, died after wrecking in the same event last January during Winter X Games XVII. Caleb wrecked while attempting to land a backflip and later died from a heart contusion.
Two men’s snowboard eliminations will also take place: slopestyle and superpipe. Notably absent from the ranks is superstar Shaun White, who withdrew from the games on Wednesday to prepare for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
