The Twins met with Hall of Famer Paul Molitor on Wednesday regarding their managerial opening, per LaVelle E. Neal of the Star Tribune. It makes sense too, as replacing a manager of 13 seasons can be a tricky task, and that's exactly what the Twins are set to go about doing. Potentially going with someone as beloved as Molitor would make that transition a bit easier.
Paul Molitor interviews for Twins managerial opening
The Twins first base coach is the first person interviewed for their managerial opening.

This isn’t the first time Molitor has interviewed for this exact job, as he pulled himself out of the running in 2001, when the Twins ultimately went with Ron Gardenhire. Molitor has never managed at any level, though he’s coached plenty. First as a baserunning instructor and infield coordinator in the minor leagues in Minnesota, then as a hitting instructor in Seattle. He returned to the Twins as a minor league coordinator. He was promoted to the major league staff in 2014, and took over as the first base coach following Joe Vavra’s injury.
Twins’ GM Terry Ryan has stated his preference for filling the position quickly, if possible, and some Twins’ players have praised Molitor’s communication skills, two things that could bode well for his chances of getting the job.
