The 44th running of the New York City Marathon is set for Sunday, and it’s a big year for the race. At some point after the competitors begin to finish, the millionth person to finish in the event’s history will cross the finish line. Both the men’s and the women’s sides should be incredibly competitive, given that this event (the last big race of the year) generally draws the biggest group of top-tier talent.

How to watch the New York City Marathon on your TV and online.

Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya is the runner to watch on the men’s side. He won the last two New York City Marathons, setting a course record in 2011 (the 2012 running was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy, the only year the event has missed since its inception). Since Mutai is the defending champion, everyone is after him and his crown. His 2013 run was dominant, especially in the final four miles in which nobody else had a chance.
