2014 New York City Marathon: Weather forecast, road closures and more

The weather forecast for the 2014 New York City Marathon calls for a cold Sunday in New York, but the roads should be dry as no rain is expected. Here is a look at the weather and road closures in and around the course.

Alex Goodlett

The 2014 New York City Marathon is upon us. The 44th edition of one of the most prestigious events in distance running looks to have mostly clear skies and dry roads on the 26.2-mile route.

The forecast in and around Central Park in New York on Sunday calls for some wind and some clouds, but more importantly a zero-percent chance of rain, per The Weather Channel. It does figure to be a cold day in New York, however, with temperatures in the 40s expected throughout with a high of 49 degrees.

ESPN2 will televise the marathon, with race coverage beginning at 9 a.m. ET, anchored by John Anderson and Hannah Storm.

There are various road closures for the event, many beginning at 7 a.m. through as late as 5:35 p.m., with some roads closed all day. Here is the full list, thanks to New York Road Runners:
