In an impromptu match, AJ Lee was made to defend her Divas title at Elimination Chamber against Cameron. She managed to do so, though only due to disqualification. As a cool-down match between the hot Shield-Wyatts showdown and the heatsink that will be Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio, it worked.
Elimination Chamber results: AJ Lee retains Divas title by disqualification
Tamina’s superkicks are terrifying.

Not only was there no significant buildup to this match, it wasn’t announced before the pay-per-view started. This match was, for all intents and purposes, manufactured out of nowhere. To be fair to WWE, AJ’s been off TV hanging out with her boyfriend CM Punk as he takes a wrestling sabbatical, but a quick announcement on SmackDown would have sufficed.
Before the match, AJ cut a promo making fun of Cameron’s Funkadactyls partner, Naomi, who suffered a legitimate orbital bone injury this month. AJ asked to see her mystery opponent, and to the surprise of no one, Cameron walked out.
For a hastily thrown together match, there was a fair amount of planning and story. Tamina, AJ’s bodyguard, accidentally superkicked the champ. Cameron tried to capitalize with a pin, but Tamina put AJ’s foot on the rope, then pulled Cameron out of the ring and clotheslined her. That resulted in a disqualification for AJ, which means she retains her title.
