Two-time gold medalist Shaun White became the latest to join a list of Olympic athletes injured at the slopestyle course in Sochi, as suffered a jammed left wrist during a fall in a training run, according to the Associated Press.
2014 Sochi Olympics: Shaun White jams wrist during training run
White will be fine to compete in the slopestyle qualifying on Thursday, but isn’t happy with the course that Sochi has prepared.

White, 27, told the AP that he has some qualms with the course at the 2014 Sochi Olympics that caused him injury on Tuesday:
“It’s frustrating to see it,” White said. “It puts a damper on the whole mood and it’s kind of like you’re getting ready to do a big trick and you see something like that. Intimidating. Unfortunate. I’m hoping the builders can make some changes and the course has a little more of a friendly vibe. But I can’t change the course. Just doing the best I can.”
Joining White on the list of athletes injured at the slopestyle course is Torstein Horgmo of Norway, who suffered a broken collarbone, and Marika Enne of Finland, who suffered a concussion. Still, White isn’t in the unanimous majority in his criticism as Mack McMorris of Canada didn’t agree that the course is dangerous:
“I don’t think it’s dangerous,” McMorris said. “Snowboarding’s dangerous. But crossing the street is dangerous, too.”
Slopestyle will make its Olympic debut in 2014, providing White with the first opportunity to earn two medals. The defending halfpipe champion in both the 2006 and 2010 Winter Games, White will look to defend his title and earn the first medal awarded for slopestyle.
White has earned five gold, one silver and two bronze medals in slopestyle in the X Games, but hasn’t medaled in the event since he earned gold in 2009.
