USA’s Sage Kotsenburg wins gold, was shocked to even make final
So random dude!

Sage Kotsenburg took four total trips down the mountain on his snowboard on Saturday -- two in the slopestyle semifinal, two in the final -- before winning the first gold medal of the 2014 Olympics.
It appears as though he didn’t expect to make those final two trips.
Whoa how random is this I made finals at the Olympics!!!
— sage kotsenburg (@sagekotsenburg) February 8, 2014 Two hours later, Kotsenburg pulled silver medalist Staale Sandbech and bronze medalist Mark McMorris onto the podium with him for a photo.

He’s never won gold before. A few second and third-place finishes in the X Games and World Championships, but never gold. Good timing, man.
