NASCAR at Richmond 2014 weather forecast: Rain but when?

NASCAR returns to racing this weekend at Richmond International Raceway and it appears so does Mother Nature and her now famous “Rain Dance” What does she have in store for NASCAR this weekend?

Just when you thought it was safe to return to the track after the Easter break, rain makes a return to the forecast with NASCAR at Richmond International Raceway this weekend.

The main threat of rain for NASCAR is this afternoon and evening as a line of showers and storms will move across Virginia. The best chance for these showers and possible storms appears to be between 1 p.m. EDT and 8 p.m. EDT. With Air Titan, it is possible they could quickly dry the track for the NASCAR Nationwide race later tonight but the rain may prevent final practice and qualifying for the Sprint Cup cars.

Once this system exits Friday night, Saturday looks nice and dry and a great evening for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Toyota Owners 400. Detailed forecast listed below.
