The Kentucky Derby may be known as the most exciting two minutes in sports, but there’s a lot more to Derby week than 120 seconds. With the 140th running of the historic race taking place on Saturday, May 3, Churchill Downs in Louisville will be a busy place all week. Pre-Derby festivities and workouts begin on Tuesday and stretch through Saturday evening.
