2014 Kentucky Derby undercard results: Wise Dan backs hype
Wise Dan was a huge favorite in the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic and backed it up with a narrow victory over Seek Again.

The 140th running of the Kentucky Derby is just hours away, and we’ve already been treated to a slew of exciting undercard races. If you’re looking to watch the actual Run for the Roses, make sure you check out the betting lines, picks and predictions and of course, how you can watch the race. All of that’s at our derby hub.
We already talked about some of the earlier undercard races, with horses like Coffee Clique and Faerie Queene winning the bigger races.
In the seventh race of the day, Midnight Lucky was victorious over Street Girl and Scherizinger. That was a $300,000 stakes race for four-year-olds-and-up fillies and mares. In the eighth race, Global View bested Storming Inti and Quotient for the victory. Big Bazinga was one of the favorites to win that, as a horse who narrowly missed qualifiers for the Kentucky Derby, but was scratched prior to the race.
The final race preceding the Kentucky Derby was the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes which boasts a $500,000 purse, the second-highest of the day. The favorite, Wise Dan, entered the race with huge 1-to-2 odds, but had to work for the victory, narrowly edging Seek Again for the win with Boisterous trailing the pair.
The Kentucky Derby, which is the 11th race of the day at Churchill Downs, is tentatively scheduled to begin at 6:24 p.m. ET.
