Brazil didn’t start great, but they finished strong, winning their first friendly ahead of next week’s World Cup opener.

It took a bit for Brazil to get going on Tuesday against Panama, but once they started scoring, they never looked back. Neymar was stellar, scoring an excellent free kick goal, and directly assisting on another, as Brazil cruised to a 4-0 win in their first of two pre-world Cup friendlies.

Brazil weren’t exactly tearing the roof off the stadium for the opening 25 minutes, but Neymar more than made up for the slow start in the 27th minute with a beautiful set piece goal. Neymar earned the foul that setup the free kick when he was tripped up by Luis Tejada, near the edge of the box. He set himself up over the ball 20-yards from goal, and skillfully lifted a shot up and over the Panama wall, curling it into the top corner past a diving Óscar McFarlane.

Alves doubled the lead in the 40th minute, hitting a low, bouncing show off his toe that found it’s way through some traffic in the Panama box, before squeezing past diving the diving McFarlane, and inside far post.

Brazil wasted little time adding a third goal early in the second half, and again, Neymar was involved. This time the Barcelona striker found Hulk with a silky smooth back heel pass as the striker raced in on goal from the left wing. Hulk did the rest, firing a low shot part McFarlane, extending the lead to 3-0.

Neymar created some more havoc in the 72nd minute, finding some space outside the box and feeding Maxwell inside the Panama area. The Brazilian defender wasted no time, crossing the ball towards the far post to Willian whose shot found it’s way past a lone defender, and into the back of the next to give Brazil a 4-0 lead.
