Illinois is a win away from the United States Championship Game in the 2014 Little League World Series after eliminating Pearland (Texas) on Tuesday.

Marquis Jackson and Darion Radcliff had two hits apiece for Chicago’s Jackie Robinson West Little League and starting pitcher Joshua Houston drove in three runs to go with five innings of one-hit ball in their team’s 6-1 win. Illinois will take on the loser of Nevada and Pennsylvania, a winner’s bracket game that begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
The winner of that contest will move on to face either Illinois or have a rematch of the winner’s bracket final in the U.S. title game.
Other games
Tennessee 12, Canada 9: Sam Slaughter hit a pair of home runs and drove in six. Now with four homers, Slaughter is tied with Illinois’ Pierce Jones for the LLWS lead.
Mexico 11, Venezuela 1: Mexico will face the loser of Japan and South Korea for a shot at the International Championship Game after Juan Garza led his team to a big win by homering at the plate and striking out six batters on the mound.
