Wide receiver Sammy Watkins was forced to exit the Buffalo Bills preseason finale early with what appears to be an injury to his ribs.
Sammy Watkins injures ribs, leaves Bills preseason game
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins re-injured his ribs during the team’s preseason finale against the Detroit Lions.

Midway through the first quarter of Bills matchup against the Detroit Lions, Watkins took a hit to his midsection and immediately grabbed the area while grimacing with pain. He was removed from the field and is currently receiving medical attention from the Bills training staff.
The fourth-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Watkins is Buffalo's top target and most explosive playmaker on offense. To acquire the Clemson receiver, Buffalo GM Doug Whaley sent the team's first-round pick in 2014 and 2015 to Cleveland. If the injury is serious enough to sideline him for the season opener, the Bills will turn to wideouts Mike Williams and Marquise Goodwin.
