Floyd Mayweather had to fight his best fight in years to escape his first fight with Marcos Maidana with a controversial majority decision win. Coming into their first fight, Mayweather was a -1000 favorite. Even with Maidana’s stunning performance the first go around, little has changed.
Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 odds: Floyd a comfortable favorite in rematch
Floyd Mayweather’s narrow win over Marcos Maidana in their first fight has only slightly changed the odds for the rematch, as he’s still a heavy favorite to come away with the win.
Mayweather is a -800 favorite to retain his title, meaning you would have to risk $800 to win $100 . Maidana is at +500 for the rematch, a slight change from the +600 odds he sat at for the first meeting.
The odds are also strongly in favor of another decision. The fight going over 9.5 rounds is at -550 while a stoppage prior to 9.5 rounds is at +325.
In order of lowest to widest odds, the finishes are listed at Mayweather by decision -250, Mayweather by KO/TKO/DQ +350, Maidana by KO/TKO/DQ +800, Maidana by decision +900, Draw +2200.
There’s also one interesting prop bet out there for the main event. It is +325 that a point will be deducted at some point from either fighter versus -550 that no point will be deducted. The first fight was a rough affair and Floyd wasn’t thrilled with some of Maidana’s tactics, so it will be interesting to see if the ref is a little more interested in jumping in early on.
A few of the undercard bouts also have odds listed currently.
Miguel Vazquez is a -340 favorite to beat Mickey Bey (+260) while Leo Santa Cruz is listed at -10000 to beat Manuel Roman (+1600).
These odds are all via Bovada and they have done the -10000 odds a few times lately, most notably with Andre Berto’s fight a few weeks ago. Their main intention is to keep money from coming in on the favorite it would seem.
