Marcos Maidana may well be on his way to the point where he needs a knockout to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. since he simply isn’t getting enough done offensively in most rounds.

A look at how round six played out between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana in their rematch.
The two men came out for round six with Maidana pushing forward and Mayweather trying to circle away from the ropes.
Maidana landed a solid right hand about a minute into the round, which was the best punch of the first minute. Mayweather then landed a counter left off the ropes and circled away from any potential trouble.
Maidana landed an overhand right, but Mayweather was starting to settle into the rhythm he wanted. Mayweather again slipped a series of Maidana punches, not allowing himself to be stuck to the ropes.
The Showtime crew has begun to criticize Mayweather for reaching out to initiate the clinch, but there are no warnings coming from the referee.
Maidana was landing a few good punches and added another right hand at the bell.
A 10-9 round for Maidana narrowly, that’s a 58-56 score for Mayweather.
