A look at how things played out in the seventh round of the bout between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana.
They came out in Round 7 and stood in the middle of the ring, which is firmly established as Mayweather’s territory. Maidana finally pushed Floyd to the ropes and landed one punch before Mayweather reached out and grabbed another clinch.
Maidana missed a wide left hook and Mayweather popped him in response. But Maidana did land another right hand before Mayweather got himself right back off the ropes.
Maidana is throwing a lot more jabs to the body and now a hard one to the face.
Mayweather is throwing his own jabs and landing at a good clip. They trade some hard right hands but Mayweather is getting in hard to the body now. Mayweather to the body again, that’s his money punch right now.
That’s an easy 10-9 Mayweather round, making it 68-65 Mayweather.
