2014 NASCAR At New Hampshire weather forecast: Could rain fall Sunday?

New Hampshire Motor Speedway will be between two weather systems on Sunday increasing the chance of rain. The question is, is the threat high enough to cause problems for the Sprint Cup race in the afternoon.

The weather forecast for NASCAR at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a mostly dry one both today and Sunday. The only real weather concern I have for this weekend is Sunday afternoon as New Hampshire Motor Speedway is between two weather systems.

For the rest of today you can expect clouds eventually giving way to more sunshine. Some warmer temperatures are expected this afternoon but we will remain dry this afternoon for the Camping World Truck Series race.

Sunday looks mostly dry but with an approaching cold front to the west, a passing system off the coast in the Atlantic and a warm front bringing in warmer moist air the threat of showers in the afternoon do increase. Don’t worry, at this point the threat of rain is very low and I think the odds of racing a complete Sylvania 300 is around 90 percent if not higher. But with the ingredients in place for a shower later in the afternoon the radar may need to be watched.

If rain does form, follow me on Twitter @NASCAR_WXMAN and like me on Facebook for the latest weather updates through the weekend.
