The Seattle Seahawks topped the Broncos again. But it was a lot closer this time, and they needed overtime to do it. Pittsburgh capped an eventful Sunday with a dominating performance in Carolina.

New extra point rule can’t stop Gostkowski
Even before the rule change, a streak of that length is especially impressive considering the fragility of the routine that goes into a successful kick. Gostkowski told Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald that it’s about a lot more than just booting a ball through the uprights.
Gostkowski has seized that opportunity and was given the franchise tag in the offseason before signing a four-year, $17.2 million contract in July. In addition to his successful extra points, Gostkowski is a perfect 7 of 7 on field goals in 2015. He led the NFL in successful field goals in 2013 and 2014 making 38 of 41 and 35 of 37, respectively.

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY SportsPeterson wasn’t happy with his showing in the first two weeks, but told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press on Sunday that after his performance against the Chargers, he feels like himself again.
The Chargers weren’t able to turn those fortunes around and shut down Peterson.

Warren Buffett and Ndamukong Suh became friends during the offseason, and today the billionaire went to Miami to support his buddy.
It would be really awesome to have the kind of money where you can just roll up to football games in shoulder pads for no reason and not have anyone say a word to you. That should be everyone’s goal in life.

The NFL changed the wording of the rule that killed the Cowboys’ season last year, removing the words “football move” from the official language. They still can’t get it right, though.
Tyler Eifert got both feet down, was in total control of the football, and dove into the end zone.

Throughout the season, SB Nation Medical Expert Dr. Ali Mohamadi will provide his insights on the most notable injuries in the fantasy landscape and how they might affect your roster decisions on game day. Here are some key injuries and their impact for Week 3.
Leading off this week’s list is Green Bay RB Eddie Lacy, who suffered an ankle sprain early in last Sunday night’s win over Seattle. Lacy was carted to the locker room after the injury, and although it appeared worse at first, the Packers star running back was lucky to escape with a Grade 1, low ankle sprain. The severity prognosis for recovery for ankle sprains are often a source of confusion, primarily because of misunderstanding over what exactly the different “grades” of sprains actually mean. In brief:

Here we see the young quarterback just giving all of his things away. Marcus, I know the NFL is different than college football, but just like in college football it is important to wear shoes and a helmet. You also want to keep the ball!

No reason to pretend being on national television wouldn’t be cool, but you have to have limits to what you’re willing to do. For some, that limit is somewhere beyond dressing up and throwing things in their living room.
The ESPN pregame show is featuring videos posted to Twitter of people doing a “#gronkspike,” so people are recording themselves doing just that. For instance, the video above of a man paid to educate children wearing a visor with hair in it and spiking papers.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsChristopher Gates of Daily Norseman considers Bridgewater’s debut to be a successful one, despite the loss. He writes:
Cassel and Bridgewater competed for the starting job throughout training camp, but the impression was always that the job was Cassel’s. Throughout the preseason, the question was whether or not Cassel would do something to lose the job rather than Bridgewater doing something to win it. The two played very similarly throughout the preseason as well. Whatever happened then, Bridgewater is the starter now.

What happened Sunday: The AFC is wide open

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY SportsBy Danny Kelly
Few quarterbacks in the NFL right now are more decisive in the pocket, have a quicker release and are playing as hot as Rivers. If Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich can continue to exploit Rivers and his weapons’ strong suits, San Diego could surprise a lot of people this year.

The Panthers have gotten beaten up and down the football field by the Steelers, and decided to summarize their evening in one succinct play on a fourth-quarter punt return:
Rookie Corey “Philly” Brown muffs the punt, then starts running, then fumbles immediately when hit, then cornerback Josh Norman not only fails to hop on top of it, but he pushes it backwards into the end zone, where after some more bobbles and bounces, Robert Golden hopped on it. Cue the Yakety Sax.

The Seattle Seahawks gave Peyton Manning one minute. He only needed 42 seconds.
Slinging the ball down the field, he first found Jacob Tamme for the touchdown, then followed it up with an amazing throw to Demaryius Thomas to complete the two-point conversion.

Cyrus Gray hasn’t gotten to touch the ball much in the NFL. A sixth-round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2012, he’s been pretty deep on the depth chart for the majority of the time, with 81 yards on 20 carries over three seasons. But with Jamaal Charles out, he was a backup today instead of a third-stringer, and in garbage time -- when they really could’ve been kneeling the ball -- he sprinted six yards into the end zone, and got to do the TD dance he’s been waiting years to unleash on the world. Now the world has seen Cyrus Gray’s TD dance. We are better for it, and perhaps slightly pregnant.

Jason MillerThere’s some talent on the Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cleveland rosters, but it was hard to see any of them being contenders at the start of the season. The Ravens have plenty of experience winning, but they had the worst run game in the NFL last year and it wasn’t expected to get much better this year. Cincinnati was the heavy favorite to take the division again, but Baltimore pushed the Bengals in Week 1, and then wiped out Pittsburgh in a primetime home opener. Now the Ravens have gone on the road and stolen a crucial division win at a place that looks to be tougher to get wins early this season.
Running back is the most unpredictable position in the NFL. Careers are short and turnover is constant. Because he’s a rookie, Taliaferro may be the freshest ball carrier on the roster and the main rusher going forward for a Ravens team that will continue to run the football with Gary Kubiak as offensive coordinator. Taliaferro finished with 18 carries for 91 yards, a 5.1 average.

It took almost a minute for the dust to settle, all while Foles was laying on the field been seen to by trainers.
