Aaron Rodgers passes the 25,000-yard mark

Rodgers is the fourth-quickest player in league history to reach the milestone.

With a completion to Jordy Nelson on Sunday against the Chicago Bears, Aaron Rodgers topped the 25,000 career passing yards mark, becoming the 11th active NFL player to do so. He came into the game needing 106 yards to reach the milestone.

Rodgers accomplished the feat in just his 98th career game, making him the fourth-quickest quarterback in NFL history to reach the 25,000-yard mark. Only Dan Marino (92 games), Peyton Manning (97 games) and Kurt Warner (97) did so faster.

We'd be remiss if we didn't make a Brett Favre comparison: Rodgers's predecessor, who holds the all-time career passing yards record, took 107 games to top 25,000. So there ya go, Packers fans: Aaron Rodgers is nine games better than Brett Favre! (We're guessing Ted Thompson already has that framed in his office.)

Of course, Rodgers has a long way to go before he tracks down Favre’s all-time yards mark of 71,838. If and when Rodgers does start sneaking up on that record, it will likely belong to Peyton Manning, who is just 6,060 yards behind Favre. Considering Manning threw for over 5,000 yards last season, it’s possible he could pass it sometime next season.
