We are now just two games away from the Super Bowl with the conference championships having finally arrived. Only four teams remain in contention for the Lombardi Trophy, and, for the first time in a decade, we could see a team holding it for the second year in a row.
NFL playoffs 2015 schedule: Championship Sunday set with Seahawks vs. Packers and Patriots vs. Colts
The New England Patriots host the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Sunday, while Seattle Seahawks face the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship.

The Seattle Seahawks are hosting the NFC Championship for a second straight year after winning the Super Bowl last season. After dispatching the Carolina Panthers in the Divisional round, they’ll host the Green Bay Packers in a rematch of their Week 1 meeting, which saw the Seahawks crush the Packers, 36-16, on opening night of the 2014 NFL season.
That game ended with Packers All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers throwing for just 189 yards, one score and one interception as he finished with the second-worst QB rating of the season (81.5). It won’t be any easier this time around, especially now that he’s dealing with a calf injury.
He’ll be going against a Seahawks secondary that is easily the best in football, led by the Legion of Boom in Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor. Those three combined for 176 tackles, six interceptions and five forced fumbles in the regular season. They’ve had Rodgers’ number to this point, going 2-0 against him in regular season meetings. If they get the better of him again, the Seahawks will likely be in the Super Bowl for a second straight season, making them the first team to do so since the 2004-05 Patriots.
In the AFC, the Indianapolis Colts are the biggest underdog remaining in contention after their upset win over the Denver Broncos in the Divisional round. They’ll now head to New England to face the Patriots for the AFC crown. The Patriots had to rally from a two-touchdown deficit to upend the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round to get to a fourth straight conference title game.
Like in the NFC, this is a rematch of a regular season meeting that saw this week’s host earning a win over the visitor as the Patriots picked up a 42-20 decision. This game will feature a quarterback showdown of past and present with the young Andrew Luck guiding an upstart Colts team and veteran Tom Brady looking to claim the fourth Super Bowl of his 15-year career.
Both games are set for Sunday, with the NFC Championship up first. Here’s a look at the full schedule for the day:
