(Editor’s update: Jeffery and Royal are both officially inactive. Wilson is a desperation play.)
Alshon Jeffery to miss Week 5; fantasy owners still frustrated
The wide receiver hasn’t played since Week 1. We break down the fantasy implications.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to miss the Chicago game Sunday with hamstring and calf injuries, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Jeffery played in Week 1, but hasn't played since, as the Bears have gone 1-3.
Jeffery caught five of his 11 targets in Week 1 for 78 yards. In his absence, Marquess Wilson has caught nine passes for 149 yards and Eddie Royal has 18 for 120 and a score. The team has leaned more heavily on tight end Martellus Bennett (24 for 201 and two touchdowns) and running back Matt Forte (13 for 133).
Fantasy impact: It’s certainly been frustrating to own Jeffery this season; he’s sounded possible-to-likely to play through practice every week, only for the team to scratch him come Friday or the weekend. Even now, the “hope” is that Jeffery will return for Week 6, but until he actually makes it onto the field, he’s hard to rely on.
With Royal also questionable for Sunday with an ankle injury, and Wilson underwhelming so far, the Bears are likely to rely even more heavily on Bennett and Forte.
