New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston landed hard on his right shoulder early in the team’s 39-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. He stayed in the game for a while, but ended up leaving in the fourth quarter. Colston was seen after the game with a sling on his right arm.
Marques Colston injures shoulder, leaves game; fantasy value waning
The New Orleans receiver wasn’t contributing a lot for fantasy, and now is injured. We break down the fantasy implications.

Colston had three catches for 36 yards in the game before leaving. Willie Snead had six catches for 141 yards, while Brandin Cooks had five for 107 and a touchdown. For the season now, Colston has 18 catches for 200 yards in five games. He has yet to find the end zone.
Fantasy impact: Colston entered the season battling Brandon Coleman for the role as the Saints’ No. 2 receiver. He’s beaten Coleman out, but both of them have been passed by Snead, who has seen his usage rise all year and is now in contention with Cooks for the team’s No. 1 receiver role.
Stay tuned through the week for updates on Colston’s injury, but between that and his reduced role in a struggling offense, he’s not really worth rostering in most fantasy leagues. Feel free to move on.
