Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will play Sunday despite dealing with multiple injuries over the course of the week. Kelce was listed as having groin and neck problems, but will be good to go for the Chiefs’ 1 p.m. ET game Sunday at the Minnesota Vikings.
Travis Kelce will play Sunday despite ailments; Chiefs, fantasy owners celebrate
The Kansas City tight end has been dealing with groin and neck issues, but will play Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Kelce had a monster game in Week 1, with six catches for 106 yards and two scores, but has been much quieter since then, with 18 catches for 222 yards and no scores in four games. The Chiefs lost running back Jamaal Charles to a torn ACL a week ago, so Kelce (as well as wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and running backs Charcandrick West and Knile Davis) will need to step up to make up for Charles’ lost production.
Fantasy impact: Kelce’s usage has been frustratingly light through five weeks; he’s averaging barely six targets a week despite apparent ability that would support much more attention. You hate to see a player of Charles’ caliber go down (or any player, really), but fantasy owners would be forgiven if they saw Charles’ injury as a chance for Kelce to shine yet again.
Kelce is a top-three or top-four option at tight end, even with his ailments. He’s a must-start.
