San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen was forced from Sunday’s game with a hip injury. He left the game after a huge yardage day in the Chargers’ 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Keenan Allen injured during huge yardage day for Chargers, fantasy owners
The San Diego wide receiver had 157 yards before leaving Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Allen was targeted 15 times in the game, catching 14 of them and going for 157 yards. Quarterback Philip Rivers had 503 passing yards in the game, so several Chargers tallied up yardage, including wide receiver Malcom Floyd and tight end Antonio Gates (95 yards each), and running back Danny Woodhead (63 yards).
Fantasy impact: Allen briefly tried to return to the game before giving up and heading to the locker room. We don’t know anything definitely yet, but that would suggest that the injury wasn’t that serious. For now, proceed as though Allen will play in Week 7 when the Chargers host the Oakland Raiders, and he’ll be a borderline WR1 in that matchup.
If the injury is worse than that, and Allen can’t go, the team has plenty of options. Floyd, Gates and Woodhead would be involved, as would wide receiver Dontrelle Inman and tight end Ladarius Green. Wide receiver Stevie Johnson is a candidate to return from his hamstring injury, as well. Of that group, only Gates and perhaps Woodhead are must-starts, but without Allen, any of the others could be a decent play as a deep dive.
