Todd Gurley is the Rams’ next great running back

The Rams finally have a back who can do it all in the rookie Gurley.

Speed. Power. Explosiveness. Agility. Vision.

Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley has it all, and those attributes were on full display Sunday as he ran all over the Browns' defense.

Playing without a knee brace for the first time this season, he became the first Rams running back with three straight 100-yard games since Steven Jackson did it in 2011, and it's pretty clear that he's St. Louis' next great running back.

Gurley carried the ball 18 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns, a cool 6.7 yards per carry, while adding 35 yards on four catches. His 163 yards from scrimmage matched Nick Foles passing yardage total, which really shows you how big of a deal the rookie running back is in this Rams offense.

He finished the game with 97 yards after contact, the most of any player in any game so far this season. His 128 rushing yards this week left him 12 yards short of becoming the second Rams running back to rush for at least 140 yards or more in three straight games as a rookie, a mark reached by Eric Dickerson.

Gurley's dominant performance follows a 159-yard day against the Packers last week, and a 146-yard day against the Cardinals in Week 4. The Rams are leaning on their rookie running back and have made it abundantly clear why they took a chance on Gurley in the first round despite the devastating ACL injury he suffered at Georgia.
