Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden had a huge game Sunday, his first performance of note as a member of the Cowboys. McFadden ran for 152 yards, more than he had run for all season before Week 7, in the Cowboys’ 27-20 loss to the New York Giants.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Darren McFadden has huge game, muddles landscape
It was supposed to be some combination of Joseph Randle and Christine Michael for Dallas Sunday, but instead it was McFadden. We break down the fantasy implications.

McFadden’s yardage came on a season-high 29 carries, and he earned a rushing touchdown. He also caught two passes for 10 yards. Joseph Randle had two carries for 24 yards, and Christine Michael carried the ball five times for 18 yards.
Fantasy impact: The Cowboys had a bye in Week 6, and spent the two weeks since their last game seemingly vacillating between Randle and Michael as the best candidate to lead the team in carries. Instead it was McFadden, whom no one expected.
Randle left the game early with a back injury. It didn’t appear serious, but almost certainly contributed to his lack of playing time and touches. Michael, meanwhile, appears to be a victim of McFadden’s early hot hand. McFadden, the veteran, is owned in only 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues. He will almost certainly be the Cowboys’ lead running back in Week 8, when the Cowboys host the Seattle Seahawks. That sort of matchup is pretty brutal, so McFadden might not be a must-start, but he needs to be owned in all leagues for the chances this production continues.
