Out of nowhere, the New York Giants turned to running back Orleans Darkwa as the team’s primary ball-carrier. Darkwa responded with the best game of his career in the Giants’ 27-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Orleans Darkwa has random big day
The Giants running back hadn’t been involved in the offense all season. We break down the fantasy implications/

Darkwa had eight carries in the game for 48 yards and a score. That was three more carries than Rashad Jennings (who had 19 yards on five carries) and four more than Shane Vereen (46 on four) and Andre Williams (13 on four). Darkwa, in his second season, had nine career carries for 23 yards and a score entering Sunday.
Fantasy impact: Well this was out of nowhere. Williams has proven to be an inept NFL ball-carrier, Vereen is more for the passing game, and Jennings has underwhelmed, but even then, no one saw Darkwa’s big game coming. More surprisingly, it appears to have been the plan coming into the game, not just a hot-hand situation, according to head coach Tom Coughlin after the game.
As of Sunday night, Darkwa is owned in 3 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and it’s a virtual guarantee that those owners all picked him up after Sunday’s game; he couldn’t have been owned in more than a handful of leagues entering Sunday. Darkwa is worth a speculative pickup in the deeper leagues, but it seems unlikely this sort of workload will be the new normal going forward.
In conclusion:
what is an "orleans darkwa"?
