The Kansas City Chiefs’ running game looked lost in Week 6, the team’s first game of 2015 without star running back Jamaal Charles. That changed Sunday, as second-year back Charcandrick West had a huge game in the Chiefs’ 23-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Charcandrick West has big day
A week after disappointing filling in for Jamaal Charles, West put up big numbers Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

West had 110 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, adding 19 receiving yards on two catches. That was good for 18 fantasy points, or 17 more than West had in Week 6. Behind West, De’Anthony Thomas and Knile Davis each got only one carry.
Fantasy impact: It’s nice to see West have a big game, but he did so in the most random way possible. He was thrust into a lot of fantasy lineups in Week 6 under the thinking that he’d get a big share of Charles’ abandoned carries, and he disappointed, so he likely sat the bench for a lot of teams in Week 7, when of course he had a huge game.
West is owned in 62 percent of Yahoo! leagues. That will likely climb heading to Week 8, in which the Chiefs play the Detroit Lions in London. The Lions struggle against opposing running backs, meaning West will see a lot of fantasy play.
