With the top two wide receivers for the Buffalo Bills out with injury, No. 3 wide receiver Robert Woods became the de facto No. 1 on Sunday. Woods responded with strong production in the Bills’ 34-31 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Robert Woods a big fantasy fill-in
With a big chunk of Buffalo injured, the wide receiver had a productive Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Woods was targeted 13 times in Sunday’s game, catching nine of them for 84 yards and a touchdown. It was season bests for Woods in every category -- he hadn’t gone for more than 60 yards or four catches in a game before Sunday. With the Bills trailing big early in the game, there were targets aplenty, and Chris Hogan saw 11 targets himself.
Fantasy impact: Who knows when or if we’ll see Percy Harvin on the field again, but with the Bills having a Week 8 bye, it seems likely Sammy Watkins will be back for the team in Week 9, pushing Woods back to the team’s No. 2 receiver role.
Woods is owned in 5 percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues. That should climb, if only because Watkins’ brittle health means there’s every chance Woods is thrust back into No. 1 duty again in the future. But on a team with a not-great offense and with the team’s top options all likely back in time for its next game, Woods isn’t anything like a must-own.
