LGD Gaming were the unquestionable favorites for Group D entering the League of Legends World Championships, but after two stunning losses they now sit at 0-2. On Saturday morning the Chinese juggernaut was decimated by KT Rolster after uncharacteristic terrible picking from LGD.
League of Legends World Championships: LGD Gaming stunned by ANOTHER upset, falls to 0-2

Showing their hand early, LGD picked Varus into Braum, already a bad matchup Then they took Hecarim and Sivir, allowing KT Rolster to easily counter the tri-AD composition with Malphite. Everyone in the stadium and on the stream knew that the picking was bad, quips were made about the coaching. The whole game felt off.
Turns out 3 AD into Malphite isn't great! #WORLDS pic.twitter.com/iSowbsTDvR
— erik lonnquist (@ggDoA) October 3, 2015 LGD’s future in Group D is unclear. Two western teams remain in the hunt and Origen could shut the door after upsetting the favorites on Friday. This is simply a case of LGD looking out of form. They’re struggling in a meta they helped create and making the kind of bad mistakes we’re not used to seeing from them.
Ssumdayyyy bloody ssumdayyyyy #worlds
— Sami Harbi (@Dig_Rico) October 3, 2015 The other side of the coin in KT, who looked like a strong team entering worlds, but at 2-0 they look better than anyone expected. The upsets continue and this has been so fun to watch.
