Welcome to Week 2 of the group stage in the League of Legends World Championships and everything is topsy turvy. Favorites in some groups like LGD Gaming are completely off their game and look vulnerable, while Cloud9 continues its stunning ascent to greatness. These worlds have been unlike any other -- that’s what makes it so fun.
Thursday is all about Group A with teams being pushed to the limit by playing three games each. It will require players to be on point and able to stay attentive for a long time. Those fighting for spots in the knockout stages can’t afford any lapses in concentration.
The team to watch is Counter Logic Gaming. Before the tournament they were thought to be North America’s best team and now they’re locked in the closest group. Right now they sit a 2-1 and atop Group A, but that could change very quickly. Getting out to an early start against KOO Tigers will be imperative to sticking around.
