Defensive back Brandon Browner is having a rough season for the Saints after signing a rich contract in the offseason. The Saints’ pass defense has been a mess this season, even before Kirk Cousins torched it on 20-for-25 passing, 324 yards, four touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 passer rating on Sunday.
Brandon Browner took a cheap shot instead of trying to make a tackle against Washington
Brandon Browner decided to blindside an offensive lineman instead of trying to make a play that would have actually helped his team.

So if Browner is going to play poorly in coverage, the least he can do is not be a jerk.
He couldn’t even do that. With roughly 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Washington running back Matt Jones went streaking down the right sideline for a 78-yard touchdown reception. Browner might have been able to chase him down. Instead, he decided to blindside Washington offensive lineman Spencer Long, who was trailing well behind the ball.
Browner was not flagged on the play, but the hit could certainly wind up in front of the NFL league office and earn him a fine. Thankfully, Long was okay after the play.
