The NFL has incredibly strict uniform rules, limiting what players can wear and fining them when they go against policy. Mohamed Sanu hasn’t let those rules keep him from wearing sweet custom cleats and he’ll continue that on Monday Night Football with maybe his coolest cleats yet.
Bengals Mohamed Sanu has custom Joker-themed cleats for ‘Monday Night Football’

— Mohamed Sanu Sr. (@Mo_12_Sanu) November 16, 2015 Those cleats would be pretty great on their own. They are even better when you consider Sanu pulls them off legally while many other players get fined for cleats.
Chicago’s Martellus Bennett was fined earlier this season for wearing cleats that were too black. Carolina’s Josh Norman was fined for wearing patriotic cleats. So how does Sanu get away with wearing cleats with the Joker’s face on them? While he pushes the limit a bit, Sanu’s shoes do mostly conform to NFL guidelines because of the colors used.
League-approved tri-colored shoes are permitted with black, white, and one team color. Each team must select a dominant color for its shoes, either black or white.
All players on the same team must wear shoes with the same dominant color. Approved shoe styles will contain one team color which must be the same for all players on a given team.
Thanks to the white/black/orange theme, Sanu would appear to be in line with NFL rules. The NFL being the NFL, however, the league will probably fine him for the tiny bit of green on the Joker’s hair. Worth it for those cleats, though.
