T.J. Yates has entered Monday night's game for the Texans after starting quarterback Brian Hoyer went to the locker to be evaluated for a concussion. It's unclear how Hoyer might have suffered the concussion. He left in the third quarter after going 12 of 22 for 123 yards and an interception. There is still no official word on his status for the rest of the game.
Brian Hoyer goes to locker room with possible concussion, replaced by T.J. Yates
The Texans will turn to T.J. Yates, who has had some success against the Bengals in the past.

Yates is no stranger to the field for Houston. He appeared in 13 games for the Texans from 2011-13, including five starts during the 2011 season. Yates has struggled mightily on the field, however. For his career, he has passed for 1,164 yards at 6.8 yards per attempt with three touchdowns and seven interceptions.
However, Yates has had success against the Bengals. He had one of the best game of his career in Cincinnati on Dec. 11, 2011, when he threw for a career-best 300 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a 20-19 win.
Yates got off to a great start Monday by throwing a touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins (though admittedly, Hopkins did most of the work).
God forbid Yates goes down, the Texans could be forced to turn to punter Shane Lechler as their emergency third-string quarterback.
