Josh Smith cussed out a Clippers assistant after blowout loss to Raptors

Los Angeles is frustrated after another loss.

Josh Smith was involved in a profanity-laden argument with an unspecified Clippers assistant coach in the locker room after Los Angeles lost its third straight game to Toronto on Sunday, according to Orange County Register's Dan Woike.

Frustration boiled over for Smith as the Clippers have lost seven of their last nine games, falling under .500 with a 6-7 record. The argument could be heard by media members waiting in an adjacent room for Doc River’s post-game availability.

Down by 29 points at halftime, Los Angeles shot under 40 percent in the loss while missing 25 of their 32 three-point attempts. After the game, the Clippers mostly dismissed concerns about the argument, with J.J. Redick describing it only as "loud noises."

“It’s because we’re losing,” Redick told Woike. “Things happen during the game, and your frustration level increases or decreases based on the final result. It’s a level of toleration you have either with yourself of other people. ... The end result dictates your mindset.”

Doc Rivers also addressed it briefly.

“It’s a locker room after you lose like that,” Rivers said. “Guys are upset. That’s about it.”

The 6-7 start is the Clippers' worst since Chris Paul joined the team.
