Marshawn Lynch reportedly has an offer from the Seattle Seahawks on the table. Whether the running back accepts it is another question.
Seahawks don’t know if Marshawn Lynch will play next year
Seahawks GM John Schneider says that the organization is waiting for Lynch to decide if he wants to return to Seattle.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider told reporters Tuesday that the team is still waiting for Lynch to decide whether he would like to return to Seattle next season. According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Schneider said that the team is hoping Lynch makes a decision soon, but understands that it “may not happen over night.“
A report on Super Bowl Sunday suggested that the Seahawks were ready to reward Lynch handsomely for his play last season with a deal that could pay him more than $10 million in 2015. The report countered assumptions earlier in the season that the Seahawks would jettison Lynch to save $7 million in cap space.
According to Danny Kelly at Seahawks blog Field Gulls, reports that the Seahawks were ready to dump Lynch created tension between the running back and the organization. Lynch, 29, has reportedly considered moving on from Seattle, or even retiring.

The extra cap space would certainly help the Seahawks achieve a few of their long-term goals -- namely, re-signing quarterback Russell Wilson. The soon-to-be fourth-year passer has outperformed his four-year, $2.99 million rookie contract, and will likely be made one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league before he becomes an unrestricted free in 2016.
Lynch is a somewhat lower priority, being a relative veteran playing a risk-prone position. He was one of the most productive running backs in the NFL last season, however, and is coming off a near-MVP performance in the Super Bowl. The most difficult task for both the Seahawks and Lynch will be projecting his value going forward. It sounds as if both sides have reconciled that he may move on if no compromise is reached.
