Anthony Davis was forced to leave Friday's game against the Phoenix Suns after taking a blow to the throat on an alley-oop attempt early during the second quarter. He immediately left to be inspected by trainers in the locker room, and was announced as questionable to return with a throat contusion. Fortunately for the New Orleans Pelicans, he was able to return in the fourth quarter.
Anthony Davis returns vs. Suns after taking blow to throat
Anthony Davis gave Pelicans fans a scare during Friday night’s game against the Suns.

Davis may not be 100 percent, however:
The @PelicansNBA Anthony Davis can breathe and swallow now normally. He was able to drink a glass of water. He's returning to the court.
— Jennifer Hale (@JenHale504) April 11, 2015 Before leaving the game, Davis managed 13 points and four rebounds in just 12 minutes on the court. The Pelicans have gotten used to missing their MVP-caliber big man. Davis has now missed 14 full games this season, and parts of several others due to injuries.
The Pelicans are fighting for a playoff spot in the Western Conference playoffs, currently sitting in a tie with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 8 seed. Both teams have had to struggle through injuries to their superstars. The Pelicans will be able to just squeak by the Thunder if they finish with identical records, thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker.
