The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets have had an interesting Tuesday evening. Four batters have been hit, catcher interference was called and Mets manager Terry Collins hit the showers early in a strange contest at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y.
Terry Collins ejected in wild Mets-Phillies game
Drama at Citi Field might be reigniting an old rivalry.

Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores took the first plunking of the game in the bottom of the second inning with a runner on first base. Naturally, nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary, but then later in the frame Phillies starter David Buchanan hit Michael Cuddyer in the wrist, forcing the veteran outfielder to leave the game.
Matt Harvey sort of hit Phillies shortstop Freddy Galvis with a pitch with two outs in the following inning, though replay had to prove that the offering actually made contact with the batter. A couple of innings later, Chase Utley definitely got pegged with a 96 mph fastball from Harvey, prompting a warning to be issued. With tempers already flaring, Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud was questionably called for interference with Ryan Howard at the plate.
Collins had seen enough at that point, getting himself ejected from the game with two outs in the top of the fifth.
David Wright later exited the game with an apparent leg injury, making matters worse for the Mets. And all of this on the day of Matt Harvey’s first home start since Aug. 24, 2013.
It’s been a weird night that has fortunately been captured by multiple people on Twitter:
Fans erupt in cheers. They've been waiting for a Mets pitcher to hit someone for a while ... Freddie Freeman, Adam LaRoche, anyone.

It's a shame the Mets were terrible after '08 and the Phillies are trash now, the rivalry between the two teams would've been great.

It's like the Jerry Springer Show here, except they're changing Ter-ry instead of Jer-ry.

The Phillies have flipped the bat over the catcher's head after both their HBPs. Quite odd.

Replays. Bunts. Replays. Bunts. Replays. Bunts. Howard struck out. Replays. Bunts. Replays. Bunts.

Idiotic trend of MLB teams keeping 13 pitchers now leads to Mets with no one to play 3B after 2 injuries.
— Greg Mitchell (@GregMitch) April 15, 2015 The Mets and Phillies face each other 17 more times after Tuesday. This could be fun to keep an eye on.
