Boston Marathon 2015: Time, live stream and TV schedule for Monday

The Boston Marathon is back for the 119th time with an American going for back-to-back wins.

For the 119th time, thousands of runners will take to the familiar windy streets of Boston for the running of the Boston Marathon. More than 30,000 runners are expected to participate, including defending men’s champion Meb Keflezighi.

Keflezighi has a chance to become the first American man to repeat as the Boston Marathon winner since Bill Rodgers won three titles in a row from 1978-80, according to NBC Sports. Doing so will be a challenge with a talented field of competitors -- Keflezighi’s personal best is the 13th-fastest among the field. Still, he likes his chances heading into the race.

“Last year, nobody had good chances for me to win,” Keflezighi told NBC Sports. “I think the chances are higher, at least according to others, this year than it was last year.”

Universal Sports Network will handle the national coverage of the race while WBZ-TV will handle local coverage in Boston. The coverage from WBZ-TV -- which is also available via an online stream at CBSBoston.com -- will begin at 7 a.m. ET. Universal Sports Network will begin its live coverage at 8:30 a.m. The race will begin 30 minutes later at 9 a.m. while the women’s elite runners will begin their race at 9:32 a.m. The men’s elite will begin not long later at 10 a.m. before the rest of the waves head to the starting line.

The official Boston Marathon website will also provide a stream of the race, giving viewers a number of options to watch on television or online. Here is a complete look at the coverage for the race.
