With so many people congregating in a small area -- especially with the possibility of more than 50,000 spectators taking in the race -- traffic will likely be congested even when roads to re-open. Spectators and others commuting around Boston are encouraged to use MBTA or other public transportation. MBTA will enhance service before and after the race to accommodate the Marathon Monday crowds.
For those who prefer to avoid the crowds and instead watch at home, there are several options to follow the race live on television or online. WBZ-TV will have television and online coverage in Boston, while Universal Sports will provide national television coverage in addition to an online stream. BAA.org will also provide a live stream of the race.
