The 35th running of the London Marathon is set for Sunday, and the field is as stacked as ever. That might be something of a cliche at this point, but there’s plenty to pay attention to in both elite categories, and it should be an exciting race.
London Marathon 2015: Time, TV schedule and live stream
The London Marathon should be exciting to watch on Sunday. Here’s how you can.

Wilson Kipsang is the one to watch in the elite men’s category. He’s the defending champion and also won the race in 2012. But he has stiff competition this time around, notably from Dennis Kimetto, a training partner and friend. Kipsang set the world record for the course last year, with a time of 2:04:29, and also the world record in Berlin in 2013.
But Kimetto promptly broke that Berlin record last year, and the two have never faced each other over 26.2 miles, which is one reason this race is drawing a considerable amount of hype. Weather permitting, we could easily see one of these two setting another world record, though rain and wind are expected. That would likely put a record out of reach, but the matchup between the two is still compelling.
On the women’s side, Edna Kiplagat is defending her crown with names like Mary Keitany, Florence Kiplagat and Priscah Jeptoo being her primary opposition. Women’s world record holder Paula Radcliffe will not be participating with the elite runners, but will be in the main field prior to retiring at the end of the race.
The race will be broadcast on the Universal Sports Network, but if you want to watch it live, you have to do it via live stream. The TV broadcast begins at 9 a.m. ET, but the race gets underway at 4 a.m. The elite women start at 4:20 a.m., and the elite men take off at 5:10 a.m. A live stream will be available on the Universal Sports Network website.
If you’re watching in the UK, there’s plenty of coverage through the BBC. Coverage starts at 8:30 at BBC Two and moves to BBC One at 10.
