Arizona Diamondbacks rookie right-hander Archie Bradley left in the second inning of his team's game against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday after being hit in the face with a line drive.
Archie Bradley hit by line drive, leaves game
Bradley left on his own power after being caught by a liner off the bat of Carlos Gonzalez.

With one out in the inning, Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez hit a 2-0 fastball off the right side of Bradley's face. Gonzalez reached base on the play. Bradley's face swelled up immediately but he was able to walk off the field on his own strength. Bradley was replaced by fellow rookie hurler Andrew Chafin.

— David Kadlubowski (@Davidkadlu) April 29, 2015 Gonzalez is routinely one of the hardest hitters in baseball, and his liner that caught Bradley’s cheek was no different:
MLB's tracking tech measured Gonzalez's line drive as 115 mph off bat. He's the #Rockies hardest hitter. Hit Bradley square in the face.
— Nick Groke (@nickgroke) April 29, 2015 Per Baseball Savant, only six balls have been measured off the bat this year harder than that one by Carlos Gonzalez. http://t.co/8CUGbwAsb8
— Nick Piecoro (@nickpiecoro) April 29, 2015 Bradley, 22, was making just his fourth major league start. The D-backs' first-round pick in the 2011 draft entered Tuesday with a 1.45 ERA in 18⅔ innings. Bradley struck out 12 batters and walked 11 in his first three starts.
After the game, Bradley tweeted an update:
Pretty ugly huh? In all Seriousness tho thanks for the text, tweets and prayers! Could have been a lot worse! #lucky pic.twitter.com/NasQBYWqkz
