Kentucky Oaks 2015: Stellar Wind leads crowded Kentucky Oaks field

The field at this year’s Kentucky Oaks is top-heavy, with plenty of low-odds horses and just as many longshots.

The 141st Kentucky Oaks will be run Friday, coinciding as always on Kentucky Derby Eve, and the premier race for three-year-old fillies continues to grow in popularity. The Oaks’ post time is 5:49 p.m. ET on Friday, and the field is full at 14 horses vying to win the $1 million stakes.

Stellar Wind, which most recently won the Santa Anita Oaks by 5 1/4 lengths after rallying from the back of the pack, is the favorite at 7-2 odds. Stellar Wind will be ridden by Victor Espinoza, who nearly rode California Chrome to a Triple Crown victory last year when the rock star three-year-old came up short at the Belmont Stakes.

I’m a Chatterbox and Condo Commando both follow up in Friday’s Oaks at 4-1 odds, and Lovely Maria is the fourth choice at 5-1 odds. Birdatthewire is currently sitting at 6-1 odds, making the Oaks field one with a handful of horses oddsmakers are grouping very closely together.

The post positions and odds for the 141st Kentucky Oaks are below. The race is set for 5:49 p.m. ET, but NBC Sports Network and the NBC Sports Live Extra mobile app will have live coverage from Churchill Downs beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET with a full day of races leading up to the Oaks.
