Kentucky Oaks 2015 live stream: How to watch online

Don’t miss a crowded Oaks field sort itself out on the eve of the Kentucky Derby.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The 141st Kentucky Oaks runs Friday, and the race’s reputation and popularity is catching up nationally to its longtime reputation to Louisville locals as just as much glamorous and fun as the Kentucky Derby that will follow Saturday. Oaks Day has long since been, among other things, a day off school for Louisville public schools and the final day of a month-long celebration leading into the Run for the Roses.

The Oaks stands on its own as a race. The premier race for 3-year-old fillies, the Oaks features a handful of horses that oddsmakers like this year. The favorite is Stellar Wind, a horse that hasn’t lost yet as a 3-year-old and will be ridden by jockey Victor Espinoza, who nearly won the Triple Crown last year with California Chrome and will also mount 2015 Derby favorite American Pharoah.

A pair of fillies stand next in the odds at 4-1: Condo Commando and I’m a Chatterbox. Lovely Maria is next at 5-1, finishing up a quartet of horses all with relatively low odds to find the winner’s circle.

The race posts at 5:49 p.m. ET and can be streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra’s website and mobile app.
