On Monday night’s “RAW,” WWE announced that Sunday, May 31 would see the return of the Elimination Chamber match, which will air live as a WWE Network exclusive special. The event, which will be held in Corpus Christi, Texas, was originally set to be a non-televised WWE live event.
WWE announces the return of Elimination Chamber
First King of the Ring, now this. It’s been a good couple of months for WWE fans.

According to WWE.com, the special will at least include a WWE Tag Team Championship match and the newly-vacant Intercontinental Championship will be “defended” in the Elimination Chamber. No indication whether this match will crown a new champion, or if there will already be a champ heading into the event.
In April, WWE hastily announced it would be bringing back King of the Ring for the first time in five years. The finals of the King of the Ring aired live on the WWE Network and generated a good amount of buzz. It appears they’re hoping they can replicate that success by bringing back another fan-favorite event on short notice.
The Elimination Chamber is a single-elimination cage match involving six competitors, released from “pods” within the special domed cage at regular intervals until there is one winner.
From 2008 until 2014, the Elimination Chamber headlined a pay-per-view event of the same name, which took place between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, generally setting the WrestleMania main event (or main events) in stone. The pay-per-view was removed from the schedule entirely this year and did not take place between the two major events as it usually does, leading fans to believe it might be gone for a good long while. Thankfully, that is no longer the case.
