American Pharoah and Dortmund were able to get on the track at Pimlico for the first time Thursday, two days ahead of the 2015 Preakness Stakes. Bob Baffert’s duo enter the second jewel of the Triple Crown as betting favorites, just as they were at the Kentucky Derby nearly two weeks ago. They’ll also be starting the race side-by-side in the first and second posts along the rail come Saturday evening.
Preakness 2015: American Pharoah, Dortmund work out
Preakness contenders prepared for the 140th running of the Preakness Stakes, set for Saturday in Baltimore.

"They just marched up to the race track and were eager to get to work," Baffert told the Baltimore Sun. "You don't want to see them leading up there like a borrowed dog. They were in a hurry to get up there and they really moved really well over the track. The track is really soft, a little deep."
Kentucky Derby winner American Pharoah opened at 4/5 morning line odds on Thursday, but stands at 10/13 Thursday afternoon, according to OddsShark.com. Dortmund opened at 3/1 and stands at 15/4.
“Dortmund came by first, he was really moving well,” Baffert told the Sun. “You see he’s comfortable, and then American Pharoah, as always, he just looks like he just ... floats over the track. He looked very eager.”
Firing Line, currently at 17/4 odds, also got onto the track on Thursday.
