Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2015: Live round-by-round updates

SB Nation will be here tonight with round-by-round coverage and updates for Mayweather vs Pacquiao, the fight of the century.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are now mere hours away from their long-awaited, highly-anticipated mega-fight showdown in Las Vegas, and SB Nation will be here tonight with live, round-by-round coverage for the entire three-fight pay-per-view card.

Read next: Read our Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight recap.

Mayweather (47-0, 26 KO) will be defending his WBC and WBA welterweight titles, as well as the division’s lineal championship, against Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KO), whose WBO welterweight title is also on the line. But the fight is about a lot more than belts and championships, it’s a fight to fully secure the legacy of one great fighter (Mayweather), or perhaps further enhance the legacy of another great fighter (Pacquiao).

The PPV broadcast will begin at 9:00 pm EST, with Vasyl Lomachenko (3-1, 1 KO) defending the WBO featherweight title against Gamalier Rodriguez (25-2-3, 17 KO) in a 12-round bout, followed by a special 10-round featherweight attraction between Leo Santa Cruz (29-0-1, 17 KO) and Jose Cayetano (17-3, 8 KO).

We'll have live round-by-round updates throughout the Mayweather vs Pacquiao main event, which is expected to begin at 11:00 pm EST. Follow along in our Mayweather vs. Pacquiao StoryStream. Make sure you join us for the biggest night of boxing in a long time.

Update (11:21 pm EST): The main event is yet to come. The undercard is over. But there is a late surge of pay-per-view orders that are reportedly delaying the fight.

ROUND BY ROUND

Round 1: Mayweather starting far more aggressively than normal, landing a couple of hard right hand counters in the first round. Pacquiao staying outside and can’t find the right range yet. A feeling out round for Manny, a fast start for Floyd. Mayweather 10-9

Round 2: Mayweather stays in control in round two, but Manny getting a little closer this round. Mayweather 10-9, 20-18

Round 3: Floyd is fighting a masterful fight right now, and Pacquiao is unable to properly find the range, but he’s working to get there. Mayweather 10-9, 30-27

Round 4: Finally, Manny Pacquiao does some damage, landing some good shots and working to land telling blows. May have hurt Mayweather a bit in this round. Pacquiao 10-9, Mayweather 39-37

Round 5: Mayweather does a great job stemming the tide in this round, and keeps Manny from building serious momentum. Floyd a bit more aggressive, like he was in round 1. Mayweather 10-9, 49-46

Round 6: Pacquiao more active again in this round, and landing better shots once more. Pacquiao 10-9, Mayweather 58-56

Round 7: Mayweather does what he did in round 5: stems the tide of Manny Pacquiao, keeping him from building any serious momentum. Pacquiao’s offensive game plan isn’t bad, but Mayweather remains great defensively. Mayweather 10-9, 68-65

Round 8: Mayweather staying in the lead right now. We’re seeing a lot of what he does better than anyone else, and it’s beating Manny Pacquiao right now. They’re about even in workrate, it seems, and that isn’t going to help Pacquiao. Mayweather 10-9, 78-74

Round 9: Floyd Mayweather is making Manny miss, not letting him put in the volume effort he needs, and landing the crisper, cleaner punches, and more frequently. In other words, this has become a Floyd Mayweather fight, and Manny Pacquiao may need a miracle. Mayweather 10-9, 88-83

Round 10: This was a debatable round. Pacquiao worked harder, got aggressive, and did land a good left hand. Punches landed seemed about even. We’re going Manny on the best shot of the round. Even otherwise. Pacquiao 10-9, Mayweather 97-93

Round 11: More tactical genius and even some aggression from Floyd Mayweather, who clips Pacquiao with more right hands and even leads the action for much of this round. Manny needs a home run now. Mayweather is firmly in the lead. Mayweather 10-9, 107-102

Round 12: Floyd Mayweather does his thing once again this round, landing some clean shots, keeping Manny from doing much of anything. Pacquiao tries to get aggressive in the final minute, but it’s not there. Mayweather will remain undefeated unless there’s something stunning. Mayweather 10-9, 117-111
